Several
Members of Company A, 79th New York joined the Irish Brigade for the 145th
Anniversary of the Battle of Fredericksburg. The weekend was filled with
recreations of the approach march of the Irish Brigade, street fighting,
the attack on the Sunken Road; as well as camaraderie and good cheer around

in Redoubt

A, 79th New York participated in the dedication and opening of the USS Monitor
Center at The Mariners'
Museum in Newport News, Virginia. The Company set up camp for
two days and participated in the Dedication Ceremony and provided living
