Yorktown Civil War Weekend

The Yorktown Nation Battlefield is located in Yorktown Virginia.

On May 27-28 2010 the National Parks Service of Yorktown National Battlefield presented its yearly Civil War Weekend at Yorktown.  Although best known and remembered for the victory by General George Washington over General Cornwallis in the Revolutionary War, Yorktown was also one of many sites where Confederate forces engaged the Union Army during the Peninsula Champagnes.

Company A, 79th NY participated by bivouacking on the grounds of the battlefield , participating in drill, living firing demonstrations and providing the colors for the Dedication Ceremony at the Yorktown Battlefield Cemetery.
